and this type dictates who owns it and who has the records.

- Public
- Customary (neighborhood, rural)
- Private
- Lodge
- Ethnic
- Family
- Mass
Where can you locate a death? Land records, Military records, Journals, fraternal organization records, orphan court records are just a few ideas where to look outside of the traditional death certificates.
