Book Signing Enlivens Family History in My Hometown

Here is the official news on my book signing in my hometown, Sheboygan, Wisconsin. I am delighted to return there after five years.

NEWS--A book signing event for Value Meals on the Volga will be held on Friday, April 20 at 4 p.m. at Book World. Value Meals on the Volga traces Bartkowski’s heritage to the founding fathers of the German-Russian village of Mariental, Russia on the Volga River. By sharing original family recipes passed from generations dating back to the 1700’s, Bartkowski helps you to enjoy the food your grandmother used to make and ensures family stories live forever in the hearts of loved ones.“

Tonya Grubb, the fabulous and eclectic owner of T'Z Marketplace in downtown Chandler, has graciously offered to sell my book in her enchanting store. How thrilling to have a food service expert recognize the history and family appeal of the recipes offered in my book.

Tonya offers an array of enticing foods including wine, cheese and relishes from around the world. I am delighted to be a very small part of her store. Check out the wine tastings at T'Z and you will be back for more.

In my efforts to spread the word on how to keep our children and grandchildren involved in our ethnic heritage, I have completed an interview with Arizona web tv. The interview will be broadcast over the internet during the next few weeks. Once the interview is available online, I will attach a link to the site.

Santan Sun News & Web TV

The December 16th issue of the Santan Sun News featured a photo of guests at the book launch and follow-up information. And, last week I taped a session for Arizona Web TV at the Painted Horse Cafe in Scottsdale. The interview will be available online starting in January. Thanks to the Sun Chapter of the American Historical Society of Germans from Russia who elected me as their President this past Saturday. My term as President starts immediately and I am delighted to be able to serve and learn from this outstanding organization. I have also been invited as a guest speaker for the February meeting to share the story of my book, Value Meals on the Volga. I look forward to an outstanding year of learning more about my ancestry

Book Launch Party a Success!

Thanks to everyone who joined me at the book launch party on Nov. 11 at 98 South Wine Bar & Kitchen. The party was an outstanding success! Many attendees finished their Christmas shopping with a few book purchases. Be sure to watch the Santan Sun News on Dec. 2 for followup story and photos.

To Bring Family History Alive

Chandler resident Anna Dalhaimer Bartkowski’s new book, Value Meals on the Volga, helps individuals create memories and spend quality time with family. More than a cookbook and more than a family history, this book guides the gourmet chef or the novice cook to make delectable delights while ensuring their stories live forever in the hearts of loved ones.

Bartkowski, a resident of Cooper Commons, traces her heritage to the founding fathers of the German-Russian village of Mariental, Russia on the Volga River. Using original family recipes passed from generations dating back to the 1700’s, these timeless foods are the catalyst for sharing stories and instigating memories.

“Cooking is an equal enjoyment opportunity for all genders and generations.” said Bartkowski. “Some of the best family stories I have heard were told to me while preparing a special meal. The kitchen is ideal for exploring your ancestry and building an unbreakable tie with those you love.”

A book launch party will be held on Saturday, November 11 from 2 to 4 p.m. at 98 Wine Bar & Kitchen located at 98 S. San Marcos Place in downtown Chandler.
